Info exclusiva de SF4 en la EGM de enero

El número de enero del 2008 de la revista EGM ya ha llegado a sus suscriptores americanos. En ella se muestra un reportaje en exclusiva sobre Street Fighter IV de 13 páginas, el cual contiene también una entrevista al productor. Esta es la información que de momento hemos encontrado, aparte de nuevas imágenes:

– El productor del juego, Yoshinori Ono, trabajó en SF Alpha, SF III, y supervisó Capcom Fighting Evolution.- Ono quiere que los fans de SFII lo sientan como una “vuelta a casa”. Quiere agradar a los hardcore y quiere traer de vuelta a los casual que sólo jugaron en recreativa y/o en la SNES.

– Planeado juego on-line, con potencial para micro-transacciones (pequeños pagos por descarga) para, por ejemplo, nuevos personajes y escenarios.

– Su apariencia realmente no es como el teaser trailer. “Tiene un estilo cartoon-shaded (cell-shading estilo dibujos animados) que ayuda a evocar un SF II reimaginado en 3d“. El estilo sumi-e tipo Okami se deja para menus y cinemáticas.

– Corre a 60FPS pese a estar a un 1% o 2% de su desarrollo.

– Jugabilidad estrictamente 2D: Ono quiere “preservar la naturaleza estratégica de SF II”. Alguna cosa accesible para casuals, pero muchas posibilidades para los hardcore.

– Intentarán meter “tantos personajes de SFII como sea posible“. Al contrario de lo que se ha dicho, no cierran las puertas a personajes de SF Alpha o SF III, aunque se quieren centrar en los de SF II al ser los más conocidos. Habrán muchos nuevos.
– Está situado cronológicamente entre SSFII Turbo y SF III.

– El tipo de control es el tradicional: “en este temprano estado de desarrollo, el juego deja una sensación muy cercana a Super SFII Turbo“.

– El juego es más agresivo: más centrado en el ataque que en la defensa. Algunos elementos jugables de SF III y Alpha han sido descartados: parries, alpha counters, tech rolls, custom combos, air blocking y air fireballs.

– Tiene una nuevo marcador: revenge / saving (el nombre se cambiará para occidente). Es una barra dividida en cuatro partes que rellenas conforme recibes daño. Puedes gastarla haciendo un ataque imbloqueable dejando pulsado puñetazo fuerte y patada fuerte a la vez (requiere tres de las cuatro partes), si lo sueltas rápido puedes cancelarlo haciendo un impulso hacia delante o hacia detras con un “dash”, cancelándolo este también movimientos especiales “EX” (golpes especiales como el Hadoken o el Shoryuken pero potenciados, gastan una de las cuatro partes cada uno). Éste podemos cancelarlo con un dash, y este con un “EX” etc. De ello se deduce que todos los personajes tienen unlockables.

– Durante la partida, la cámara se mantiene estática como en un juego 2D, excepto en los movimientos Ultra.

– Aparte de los Super Combos, también tiene los Ultra Combos, una especie de Super Combo con una larga cinemática, en la que se hacen panorámicas y zooms desde diferentes ángulos, como en los juegos de Naruto. Durante ellos, nuestro personaje da una buena cantidad de golpes y especiales, consumiendo toda la barra de Super Combos y una de las 4 partes de la de Saving. Se ejecutan como un Super Combo pero pulsando dos puñetazos o dos patadas (como los Super Combos potenciados de los Alpha).

– Los agarres se hacen pulsando puñetazo y patada fuerte, la burla pulsando puñetazo y patada fuerte y el caer bien al suelo tras un golpe en el aire pulsando puñetazo y patada fuerte.

– No han decidido habrán varios Super/Ultra Combos para cada personaje (como en los Alpha), uno sólo por personaje (tipo SSF2T, de momento funciona así), o uno a elegir entre varios (tipo Super Arts de SFIII).

– Se esforzarán especialmente en equilibrar el juego tanto a nivel jugable como en cuanto a plantilla de personajes. No sólo durante el desarrollo. Si es necesario, también en futuros parches de descarga.

– El juego es MUY rápido, quizá bajen un poco la velocidad más adelante.

– Ono sabe que Capcom Fighting Evolution da asco, entró de rebote en el proyecto porque el productor que lo estaba haciendo dejó la compañía. Sabe que está desequilibrado porque es una mezcla cutre de personajes y sistemas de Super Combo, los cuales no se modificaron para encajarlos bien.

– SF4 iba a ser en 3D, pero Ono se opuso firmemente. Quería mantener el espíritu de la saga. En perspectiva, tipo de control, espíritu, etc.

– Se usa física para mover la ropa de los personajes. A los personajes se les notarán venas y movimientos de músculos, así como expresiones faciales con gestos de dolor etc. Intentarán hacer cosas como que si le pegas mucho en el hombro, el personaje lo baje un poco, etc.

– El productor dice que aún no han decidido en qué plataformas aparecerá, ni si habrá versión para arcade. Shane (reportero de EGM/1UP) lo jugó en un PC metido en una cabina de arcade (podría ser un kit de desarrollo).

– Ono no está entusiasmado en hacerlo exclusivo de un formato:le gustaría llevarlo a todas las plataformas que pueda, aprovechando al máximo las cosas buenas y malas de cada una. Incluso sugiere que Capcom podría hacer incluso versiones para PS2 o DS si “ellos estiman que es el mercado adecuado”.

– No hay fotos de Dhalsim o Chun-Li. Esta última aún está en un estado demasiado preliminar respecto al modelado, pero los de 1UP pudieron contralarla para jugar. A Dhalsim le faltan movimientos. Ken y Ryu están un poco más acabados.

– Ikeno (ha trabajado en anteriores juegos, como en la saga SF3) está diseñando los personajes, al menos a Chun-Li.

– El escenario efectivamente es el de Chun-Li, y está aproximadamente al 50%. Están experimentando con elementos interactivos de los escenarios, como pollos que corren por ahí y puedes quemarlos con una bola de energía. Pero pequeños detalles, que no distraigan la atención de la pelea.

– Rumores de un location test en arcades para principios de año. Dice que el juego no necesariamente ha de estar para el 20º aniversario de Street Fighter (oficialmente el año que viene), podría esperar hasta un año o dos después.

– Ono bromea con que informaciones pasadas de EGM podrían llegar a hacerse realidad en el juego. Es una broma, una posibilidad. NO está confirmado que metan a Gouken, y menos aún con el nombre de Sheng Long (cosa que ellos aclaran).

– Estarán ajustándolo y equilibrándolo hasta el justo momento que vayan a grabar los discos.

Por otro lado, Shane Bettenhausen (redactor de EGM/1UP que ha jugado al juego) reacciona ante la gran cantidad de fans que están poniendo a parir el juego en muchos foros sin motivo. Les dice que se tranquilicen, y dejen de decir cosas sin argumento ya que esa opinión le parece desmesurada.

Que esperen a jugarlo(como él), o al menos a verlo en movimiento y a leer antes el artículo sobre el juego. Ya que el desarrollo del juego ha sido muy largo y dificil desde su concepción, y que su sistema de juego es tan complejo y matizado que llevará a la franquicia a niveles no imaginados por los más hardcore de los SF3.

Estoy de acuerdo con Shane al 100%. Un 10/10 a su reportaje y un 10/10 a lo mostrado en el juego. Da igual que no hayan parry, el nuevo sistema pinta mucho mejor. Las dudas que tenía sobre el proyecto se me han esfumado.

    Yo estoy contigo, el juego pinta genial y todos los cambios me parecen en la buena dirección.

  8. Si, la información aquella que robó el brasileño estaba mal contada, por lo que daba bastante miedo el juego y las imágenes robadas por él no eran las mejores, además de tener una calidad pésima.

    Ahora, al ver todo bien explicado en el reportaje de EGM, la verdad es que uno recupera la ilusión parcialmente perdida. Aunque hay mucho trabajo por delante, todo pinta genial.

    Pienso que la gente debería pensárselo antes de trollear sobre un juego a saco en los foros habiéndo visto sólo un par de fotos y sin tener casi información del mismo, menos aún si no está confirmada. Ahora, sabiendo mucha más información, que el juego está a un 1% o 2% del desarrollo y que están dispuestos a retocar y a ajustar todo para contentar a la mayor cantidad posible de gente, creo que nadie se puede quejar, ya que todo pinta genial.

    Especialmente me ha gustado que Ono sea un fan de la saga, que luche por mantener la esencia, y que sea consciente de los errores de Capcom Fighting Evolution.

    Yo soy optimista. Creo que el juego pinta bien, aunque está extremadamente verde. Es rarísimo que enseñen algo de un juego en este estado tan temprano (me apuesto lo que sea que las imágenes no son capturas del engine en el estado actual, porque eso es mucho más de un 2%). En la industria esto nunca se hace porque quedas fatal y a la gente no le suele gustar. Generalmente no se enseña algo hasta la alpha, que es cuando tienes todo funcionando aunque sea a medias y con montones de bugs.

    Creo que sólo han dicho esto para marear la perdiz, ver que dicen los fans y a partir de ahí mover el juego para un lado u otro, como están haciendo con la mayoría de proyectos de Capcom USA. Por lo que sé, las builds jugables no tienen escenarios, hay un montón de personajes(pocos jugables) ya hechos pero aún modelados a low-pol (rollo temporal para ir tirando) y con las animaciones a medias.
