Esperanzas reales para un Marvel vs Capcom 3

Por fin un hilo de esperanza para el eterno fake. Sonó varias veces como April’s fool, incluso nosotros hicimos la broma. Pero esta vez ya empiezan a existir posibilidades reales.

Según IGN, Marvel ha cancelado la licencia a EA para hacer juegos de lucha con sus personajes. Según Justin Lambros, Vicepresidente de Marvel Interactive es por diferencias de catálogo con EA, y no porque Marvel ya no quiera hacer juegos de lucha.

Podríais pensar que Capcom lo tendría difícil para conseguir licencia de Marvel, ya que ahora Activision también tiene licencia para hacer juegos sobre ellos. Pues bien, la licencia de Activision es hasta el 2009. ¿Y que piensa Lambros de esto?

Si leemos declaraciones anteriores (en septiembre) de este hombre, quien licencia los videojuegos sobre Marvel, vemos que es un fan acérrimo de la saga 2D de Capcom. A la pregunta de que si le gustaría ver Marvel Vs Capcom y Marvel Vs Capcom 2 como juegos de descarga afirma:

“Si, ambos están entre mis favoritos de todos los tiempos. Soy un gran fan de la lucha en 2D… Marvel Vs. Capcom siempre lo he tenido en el fondo del corazón, por lo que sin lugar a dudas queremos ver esto otra vez en marcha.”

Lambros no es el único que quiere volver a hacer un Marvel Vs Capcom. Ono, productor de Street Fighter IV, dijo en una entrevista reciente que en un par de años si SFIV funciona bien le encantaría usar ese engine para hacer un nuevo Marvel Vs Capcom o un nuevo Darkstalkers.

Teniendo en cuenta la importancia de Capcom USA dentro de los títulos recientes de la multinacional y su proximidad geográfica con Marvel, deberíamos saber su opinión al respecto. Pues bien, Seth Killian (Senior Manager de Capcomunity) ha dicho ante las peticiones de MvsC3 por parte de los fans:

“Gente, gente… por favor, calmaos. No es cuestión de ‘tenemos que convencer a Capcom de que es una buena idea’, Capcom ama nuestros juegos sobre Marvel, y uno nuevo estaría genial. Relanzar un juego antiguo también molaría.

Estamos todos de acuerdo. Ahora sólo es cuestión de hacer todos los papeleos de negocios que tocan, lo cual a veces es mucho más complicado de lo que cualquiera muy entusiasmado con un gran juego pueda llegar a pensar.

Por supuesto os avisaremos si tenemos algo nuevo que anunciar, pero incluso si esto llega a pasar llevará tiempo. Esta noticia es demasiado reciente (que EA pierde los derechos de los juegos de lucha), por lo que crucemos los dedos para que podamos tener más de nuestro querido Marvel vs Capcom.”
