Lost Planet Colonies acaba de aparecer registrado en la ESRB americana como un título para PC y Xbox360, con la calificación Teen porque contiene violencia, sangre animada y lenguaje no muy fuerte.

En mayo apareció registrado como un 3rd person shooter en el USK, el equivalente alemán de la ESRB. Según los alemanes sería publicado allí por CEG (Capcom Europa Alemania) para Xbox360. Incluso el distribuidor holandés Nobilis lo listaba para enero del 2008 a 29,99€ para Xbox360 y PC.

ESRB es la entidad que asigna la clasificación por edades a los videojuegos antes de que salgan a la venta en ciertos países, como por ejemplo los USA. Típicamente, el que se publiquen allí supone la confirmación oficial de juegos que hasta ese momento eran rumores.

Cuando empezó a sonar este nombre, se especuló que podría ser el port para PS3, o una segunda parte multiplataforma. También se habló de una ampliación, o de incluso un juego de estrategia. Capcom de momento no ha dicho nada sobre el juego.
