Plunder fue presentado en el Capcom Digital Day, realizado por Certain Affinity (quién cuenta en sus filas con Max Hoberman, famoso por el multijugador de Halo 2 y 3). Se trata de un juego multiplayer de estrategia en tiempo real basado en Settlers of Cattan, así que estará inspirado en el mundo de los piratas.

nos iremos moviendo en un tablero dividido en hexágonos, en el cual tomaremos el control de nuestro barco pirata e iremos conquistando los diferentes puertos del mapa. Conforme vayamos conquistando, mayor serán nuestras riquezas y obtendremos mayor velocidad y más fuerza en nuestros buques.

Si seleccionamos una zona hexagonal, nuestro barco irá hasta el punto escogido y mientras se diriga a este, si encuentra algún enemigo automaticamente abrirá fuego contra él. El juego terminará cuando uno de los dos bandos conquiste el mayor número de puertos posible.

El enviado de Kotaku al Capcom Digital Day dice que hizo un equipo con tres personas más contra otro equipo, que es bastante fácil de controlar, aunque en algunas habilidades cuesta algo acostumbrarse en realizarlas y hay que ir algo rápido para ir concuistando puertos enemigos.

Otra cosa que destaca es la fácil utilización del editor de fases del juego, uno de los mayores alicientes de Plunder. Dice que es muy sencillo al contrario de muchos editores de este tipo en otros juegos.
