A nadie se le escapa que Capcom es una gran aficionada del Copy+Paste y el reciclaje en general. Cuando no pueden meter el sprite de algún personaje de otro juego ¿Morrigan?, reaprovechan ideas de personajes desechados para anteriores juegos.

Bocetos de personaje de lucha libre desechados para Street Fighter II

En este caso han recuperado la idea de unos bocetos que Akiman hizo para Street Fighter II. Era un personaje de lucha libre enmascarado que al principio se llamaba Maskman (homenaje a Tiger Mask, a quien plagiaría más tarde King del Tekken).

Tras trabajar un poco el personaje, Maskman pasó a ser The Hell Maya, un luchador mejicano de lucha libre, con una estrella en la máscara, 28 años, 212cm y 135kg. Zangief salió más tarde, y hasta las etapas finales de su diseño tenía por nombre “Vodka Globalsky” (no es broma).

La saga Slam Masters
Dos años después de Street Fighter II, en 1993 Capcom lanza Saturday Night Slam Masters (Muscle Bomber – The Body Explosion en Japón), que contaría con ports a Mega Drive y SNES, y las secuelas Muscle Bomber Duo – Ultimate Team Battle (Muscle Bomber Duo: Heat up warriors en Japón) y Slam Masters II : Ring of Destruction (Super Muscle Bomber: The International Blowout en Japón).

Slam Masters es un juego de wrestling, en que encontramos dos personajes enmascarados: El Stingray (El Stinger en Japón), un rápido y ágil luchador con buenos golpes aéreos y Scorpion (Astro en Japón), un jefe final que contaba con poderes para teletransportarse y una especie de casco de moto por máscara.

Parece que El Fuerte ha heredado la máscara de Stingray y la cinta en la cintura de Scorpion, claro está con los colores cambiados. Por cierto, como podeis ver en la captura que os he hecho del juego, Haggar (Final Fight) también estaba como personaje jugable, y entre el público se puede ver a E.Honda.

El diseño de personajes de la saga Slam Masters, así como las ilustraciones de portada y promocionales corrieron a cargo de Testuo Hara, conocido por El Puño de la Estrella del Norte (Fist of the North Star).

Grandes de la lucha libre mejicana : El Santo
Habitualmente, Capcom suele elegir basar a sus personajes de juegos de lucha a míticos personajes reales para basarse en ellos. En este caso el referente más claro es Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, más conocido como “El Santo”, o “El enmascarado de plata”.

Héroe nacional mexicano, destacó en beisbol, futbol americano, lucha greco-romana, jiu-jitsu y fútbol americano además de dedicar 40 años de su vida a la Lucha Libre profesional, en la que se le considera toda una leyenda. Su fama rompió fronteras y llegó a todo el mundo, junto a sus películas y cómics.


Sus 58 películas, todas de serie B, se consideran clásicos del cine bizarro y algunas contaron con éxito mundial. Siempre aparecía con su máscara, y a veces con el traje de lucha libre, y luchaba contra zombies, extraterrestres, científicos locos y monstruos varios.

En su filmografía hay títulos como Santo contra el Cerebro del Mal, Santo contra los zombis, Santo vs las mujeres vampiro, Santro contra el espectro, El Hacha diabólica, Atacan las Brujas, Profanadores de tumbas (Los traficantes de la muerte), Santo el Enmascarado de Plata vs. la invasión de los marcianos.

Otros títulos destacables son El Santo vs. las momias de Guanajuato, Santo y Blue Demon contra Drácula y el hombre lobo, El puño de la muerte, La furia de los karatekas, Santo vs. la hija de Frankenstein, Santo contra el doctor Muerte o Santo en el misterio de la perla negra.

Se creó el mito de que no se quitaba nunca la máscara, y que si lo hacía moriría. Nunca la perdió en ningún combate, pero se la quitó parcialmente en un programa de TV a principio de los ’80.

Corrieron rumores de que lo hizo engañado por el productor y que el disgusto afectó a su salud. Al poco tiempo murió de un infarto de miocardio con 66 años. Miles de personas fueron a su funeral.

Su gloria era tan grande que hasta él era quien tenía que salvar la vida a El Capitán América en su propia película (¿aceptamos película como la verstión turca de El Capitán América?) xD

Grandes de la lucha libre mejicana : Místico
Ha habido algún luchador mejicano popular con estética similar como Máscara Sagrada, el mismo Hijo del Santo, o quien por su espectacularidad y fama quizá merezca ser su heredero: Místico. Ojalá El Fuerte herede su estilo de lucha. Atención al super video:


Haciendo honor al estilo de la lucha libre mejicana, su técnica se basa en ataques aéreos, una gran velocidad y vistosas piruetas. Es muy popular, incluso ha salido en un videoclip de La 5ª estación.

Realmente este hombre es muy espectacular, la verdad es que sus movimientos parecen sacados de un anime y quedarían muy bien para El Fuerte. Al menos su técnica más famosa: La Mística.


Como curiosidad, os quiero mostrar también a Mascarita Plateada, también conocido como Mini Nova en la WWF. Es el luchador-mini mexicano de más habilidad y popularidad.

Ha aparecido en varias películas campañas publicitarias y campeonatos varios de wrestling. Es como Místico pero pequeño como un niño.



Como podeis comprobar, El Fuerte parte de referentes gloriosos, ante los que Rey Misterio Jr, El Blaze, Big Bear o Tizoc sólo pueden arrodillarse.

    Segun comento el productor de SF4 durante la pasada GDC (Game Developers COnference) el personaje del fuerte partio de la referencia del luchador Mexicano MIL MASCARAS, si ya se que no se parecen las mascaras pero tuve la oportunidad de acudir a la conferencia que ofrecio y ahí le hice la pregunta donde comenta que desde niño es muy fanatico de la lucha libre mexicana y que uno de los luchadores mexicanos más famosos en Japón es Mil Mascaras y que a partir de él surgió el diseño y después se fueron agregando caracteristicas de otros luchadores como el diseño de las mascaras pero dejo claro de donde surgio su deseo por incluir un luchador mexicano.

Tinieblas fue también muy famoso e ídolo de muchos; salió en varias series de televisión mexicana e incluso recientemente tuvo un comic que no estaba nada mal.
