Bayonetta fue el primer juego que mostraron en la presentación de los tres nuevos juegos de Platinum Games ( Ex Clover Studio), el cual sería el único de los juegos presentados que sería de nueva generación, tanto para Playstation 3 como XBox 360, el cual tiene prevista su salida durante el año 2009.

El juego está dirigido por Hideki Kamiya, persona que estuvo en la dirección de grandes títulos de Capcom como puede ser Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe o Okami; así que parece ser que Bayonetta está en buenas manos.
