Otro de los juegos que enseñó Capcom en el evento del CES ’09 bajo una demo actualizada, fue Dark Void.

Este juego con temática de ciencia ficción de los años 70 y desarrollado por Airtight Games, nos pondrá en manos de Will, un piloto de carga que viajará a otra dimensión al cruzar el Triángulo de las Bermudas, allí se verá envuelto en un conflicto bélico entre los humanos y una raza extraterrestre llamada los Watchers, la cual está muy avanzada tecnológicamente.

 

Será en esa dimensión donde conocerá a Nikola Tesla, un inventor que se abastece de este tipo de tecnología alienígena en su  lucha contra los Watchers. Lo que nos porporcionará trajes de protección, el jetpack y multitud de armamento.

El juego parte de la mezcla de varios tipos de juego con un original control, lo que nos porporcionará una experiéncia única pocas veces vista; donde cobra su protagonismo los sustanciales empleos de efectos de física, como la gravedad. Destaca también por su sismtema de lucha vertical.

La nueva demo presentada en Las Vegas, sorprendió a todos los medios por sus mejoras gráficas, mejores modelados, un framerate constante a 60 frames por segundo (en la versión PC aclarando el promotor de Capcom que puede haber bajas de framerate poco considerables en la versión de consola) y una notable jugabilidad. Recordamos que el juego utiliza el motor Unreal Engine 3.

 

Este shooter vertical en tercera persona, se le compara a nivel de conceptos a Gears of War por sus características de cubrirse y sus controles de disparo.

Las armas se podrán actualizar, y por lo que ha enfatizado miembros de Capcom, algunas implementarán funciones secundarias y sutiles, mientras que otras transformarán por completamente el arma tanto su función como su aspecto.

Según se pudo probar en la demo, nuestro protagonista es bastante maniobrable en el aire con gran libertad, teniendo un gran espacio donde interactuar. Los efectos de física con el peso y el realismo de esta recordaban por momentos  a Crimson Skies.

Los escenarios serán muy variados, conforme avancemos en la historia veremos acantilados, cañones, selvas o el mismísimo espacio entre acumulaciones de vapores, tnubes de gases, remolinos y rocas. En la demo únicamente se pudo jugar en dos bases flotantes extraterrestres.


En definitiva, estamos ante un gran juego que está pasando desapercibido a causa del hype de otros juegos con más renombre como pueden ser Resident Evil 5 y Street Fighter IV; y que esperemos que destaque mucho más entre los medios del sector. El juego tiene prevista su salida en PC, XBox-360 y Playstation 3.
